Posting a letter to germany ???

i want to post a letter to germany? can it go straight in a postbox or should i take it down to the postoffice and ask them? thanks in advance

Just to be safe take it to the post office. If it doesnt need to be weighed or anything just say to them can i get this sent first class to germany. They normally put a sticker thing on it to say its being sent by air mail :)

50 pence up to 20 grammes  Airmail automatically - only internal UK mail is first class . Stick 2 2nd class stamps plus air mail sticker - save you going to post office .
