I just got Sony a Cybershot DSC-S730 digital camera maybe 2 months ago, I went to take a picture and the flash will not work, it was working fine yesterday, so can someone please tell me what the problem might be and what I can do to fix it?

  1. Call Sony and see what they gave to say, if it's only two months old then they should either fix or replace it. I would download all your photos before sending it in. Oh maybe you just changed a setting look in the manuaql to see how to change flash settings. -- micgerwal.

  2. When the flash is set on automatic it will only flash if it is too dark.

Those cameras have various settings - try the "flash always on" one.

If it does not flash with this setting it is probably broken (or the batteries are lame). If it is broken do not try to repair it yourself. Some parts of the flash might still have quite high voltage.

As the camera is new it should be a warrenty matter. Have it replaced.
