Does anyone know for sure that if you get periods you are definitely ovulating??? Getting sticky mucus etc but ovulation tests are always negative (when i mind on to use them I'm a bit forgetful sometimes) on average i mind on and take them every second or third day around the right time of month but if you miss a few days of using them will a positive just not show up?????

I have already had 1 child does that mean i don't and will not have PCOS?????????

Also i am getting mucus every month so is that a sure sign that i am ovulating???

  1. You can still have PCOS. With PCOS your periods can still be regular, and you might not have pain, because the cysts might not be big enough to cause pain. If you think you might have PCOS let your doctor know they can order blood work and an ultrasound to check for cyst. Everyone has different symptoms. Some people who have PCOS have no signs of it. I always start using my opk test the day after I ffinishmy period because I don't know how long my cycles are. Good luck to you.

  2. Yeah about 2 weeks before you get your period you will ovulate.Other people call it mucus. And you know if you have PCOS if you get pains on your ovarys and if your period is irregular.

  3. I wish I could give you a stright yes or no but its really not as simple as that. You can have periods without ovulation and you can also get EWCM without ovulation but equally just because you are not getting positive results on the OPK does not mean you are not ovulating. Your LH surge can be very short so by testing every couple of days you may miss it. I have been using testing strips and also have PCOs, I have been testing everyday, more than once on days where I have noticed my own bodily signs that I may be ovulating and I have not had a single positive result, however I have had an ultrasound scan this morning that has shown that I did ovulate this month. They do say that women with PCOs will often show 'false' positives on OPKs due to the raised levels of the LH hormone however this obviously does not apply to us all.

    Good luck with TTC

  4. You can regular periods, positives on OPKs, EWCM and O pains and still not be ovulating. Sometimes our bodies prepare to ovulate, but dont for whatever reasons. The only way to confirm you ovulated is by taking your BBT every morning and having a noticeable temp shift that lasts at least 10 days.

Its very possible to conceive a child naturally with PCOS, it depends on the severity of it.

    Good luck!

(edit) BBT is basal body temp, its your body temp at a "resting stage" you take your temp first thing in the morning, don't get up out of bed, just reach over for the thermometer and take your temp FIRST THING. once you already ovulated your temp will rise about 0.4 degrees and remain elevated until AF comes or if you conceived it will stay elevated.
