I live in flats with no service entrance, the post man wont take a key so post all post in one bundle through the door. Post is now being stolen because of this, are there any other ways he can get the post to the individual boxes inside? not known if anyone in the flats would be in to open the door for him but that is impractical anyway.

please help!

  1. if the post office wont help, you could rent a mail box at mail boxes etc. could be expensive but would be a short term fix until you get it sorted.

  2. Why not use a friend's address / work address instead of your home address?  You'll either have to tell everyone who mails you stuff asap, or use the post office mail redirection service for a few weeks, but it's probably cheaper to pay for that than to keep losing your mail.

  3. I would personally talk with the post master of your area not the mail carrier. Inform them of the problem your running into. Let them know this is unacceptable(in a nice way). Many areas the mail carrier has a key to enter the main lobby's where the mail boxes are to deliver the mail to the individual people.

The carrier may not be taking the key because he/she doesn't want the responsibility if something were to happen. Their bonded so that shouldn't be an issue. It could be the carrier's lazy and not wanting to deliver individual mail and just bulks it all together.

Regardless of the reasons the Post Master must be made aware of this problem. It's federally run and theft of mail is a federal offense.

If you cant get results with a compromise than ask for your mail to be held for you to pick up.

  4. my partners a postman and he delivers to flats and carrys keys to get in the front doors.

you could always write to royal mail or pop into your local office and ask if they could hold it back for you to pick up? or could u not install your own locked postbox on the outside wall? that way he doesnt have to go in and only you have the key for it?

  5. I think you can organise with the Post Office for your mail too be held at your local office for you to collect.Pop in or phone and ask them.

  6. i  think  you  can  get  your  post  yourself from the  post office if  it is going  missing
