  1. If the baby is only 3 weeks, it could still be due to hormone fluctuations but you should talk to your doctor.  And, just fyi, it's spelled Postpartum.  I had it and was prescribed antidepressants which saved my life after my daughter was born.  Please talk to someone and get help.  Postpartum can become very serious if it is not treated.

  2. I think so, you shoul call your doctor or a pospardom depression line

  3. Absolutely. Even if you don't have it bad, the first few weeks are always the hardest, especially if it is your first baby. You should contact your OB ASAP because it can become serious quickly. I had it with 3 of my 4 pregnancies, the most recent being 3 months ago and my OB gave me Zoloft and I feel like a new person! Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!

  4. childbirth is a very emotional thing. i had bouts with crying and being angry for no apparent reason. your hormones are in an uproar. give it time. it will settle,  but it is normal to be hormonal for like a year. if you feel that you are a danger to yourself or your child. speak to your doc. in fact you may as well talk to them anyway. they should have a nurse on call at the hospital for you to speak with. this may help you figure if it is normal or something more.
