Postpartum Binders??? Do they work???

My baby girl is due any day now and then 6 weeks later I'm having a baby shower for her. I was wondering if the postpartum binders work is helping lose the belly fast. I'm not looking for a weight loss thing, I know that will take 9 months at least..what I am wanting is something to quicken the return of the natural body shape after pregnancy. I hear these do that. But I don't know if they do, and I don't want to spend the money if they don't. Is there one someone can recommend? Help please...

  1. Buy it - you won't regret it!

I bought a cheap one (less than $20) and wore it as soon as I got out of the hospital and only took it off to shower. I had twins with a c-section and was HUGE but my belly went flat in just 9 days. I think it was because I wore the binder really tightly and didn't take it off. The first few weeks post-partum are important and you won't regret spending a few dollars to make sure your belly goes down. You'll be glad you did it!

  2. breastfeeding is the absolute best thing to recover. There is no substitutet

  3. Breastfeed . . . it will REALLY take the weight off!!!  My mother gained around 25 pounds with each of my siblings and I, and she breastfed all of us.  She was back to her pre-pregnancy weight and size and shape within two weeks, all 3 pregnancies.  I don't know about the binders, but you could try it, as it wouldn't hurt anything.

  4. I got a girdle like thing from kohls that I LOVE. I got it when my daughter was about 6 months old because things just hadn't gone back like they were suppose to. My daughter is almost a year old and my body looks like it did before I had her but I still wear my girdle if I am going out because my body wasn't perfect before and it takes 10lbs off of me.

I am not sure what it is called. It is more like a tight bodysuit with the bra built in. I cost maybe $30.00.

Buy one, you will be glad you did.

  5. my pediatrician got me one through a prescription...it was given to meat the hospital.  i am happy to say after 2 weeks my stomach went down completely and right now i am wearing the shorts i wore before pregnancy...a little tight but i fit into them dammit! so yes bind your tummy!!!!

  6. I read in a pregnancy magezine that they serve no other purpose other than a girdle <- spl?

Does it still work 3 months after the baby lol? If so I am sooo getting one!!!
