Question:

Postpartum bleeding question?

I am now 9 weeks postpartum, I had stopped bleeding at about 5 weeks, then two days ago I started having cramps, sometimes strong, and clot like brown blood. I am also on the mini pill for about two weeks now, and started hitting the gym a few times a week. I exclusively breastfeed my daughter and have no other medical problems that I know of. Should I call the doctor just to be safe or is this normal?

  1. It's normal, I didn't have a period for 6 months after the initial bleeding stopped. I also breastfed exclusively for the 1st 4 months. Maybe just take it easy on the exercise for a few days and see if that helps, if not, call your doctor and let them know what's going on. It never hurts to just get a check up.

  2. its normal . Good Luck!

  3. It is normal to have unpredictable spotting for the first 3-4 months.  As for the brown color, that just means that its kinda old blood.  Nothing to worry about, it just didn't get worked out yet, and it didn't have blood from a new period to hide the color.  Nothing to worry about.  It's normal.  Relax.
