can you give me a easy recipe for a easy pot roast

  1. Put your roast in the crock.. cover with a can of cream mushroom soup and a can of water.. sprinkle on pepper and season salt. cover and let cook for about 4 hours... after the 4 hours is up add carrots, onions and chunks of potatoes cover and let cook another 2 hours.


  2. In a crockpot put 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup and 1 envelope of onion soup mix. Cook 4-8 hours depending on crockpot and size of roast.

    Sunday Pot Roast with

    Brown Gravy



    1 (5 pound) bone-in chuck roast

    Salt & Pepper

    6 medium size russet potatoes

    4 or 5 carrots

    1 large yellow onion

    olive oil

    1 cup beef broth + 1/2 cup water

    2 garlic cloves

    2 tbs flour

    1 1/2 cups water

    1 tbs Kitchen Bouquet

    Heat oven to 350 degrees.

    Season meat generously with salt & pepper, both

    sides. In a large dutch oven heat pan on stove top,

    medium-high heat. Add about 2 tsps olive oil. Sear

    both sides, about 5 minutes per side.

    Peel carrots cut into 2 inches pieces. Peel

    potatoes and onion, cut in quarters. Peel garlic,

    leave whole.

    After roast has browned, turn heat off. Add beef

    broth, place vegetables around the roast, cover and

    place in oven. Cook for about 1 1/2 hours.

    Place roast on serving platter, place carrots and

    potatoes around platter. Discard garlic. Place dutch

    oven on stove top. Turn to medium-high heat. Add

    the kitchen bouquet or browning seasoning product

    of choice. Add about 1/2 cup water if needed.

    Mix 1 1/2 cups water with 2 tbs flour, mix well.

    When liquid on stove comes to boil, using a whisk,

    add flour/water mixture until well blended. Reduce

    heat to low, simmer for a few minutes until thick.

    If you like a thicker gravy, blend 1 tbs flour with

    1/4 cup water, mix well and whisk into gravy. Simmer

    until thick. Add salt & pepper to taste. Strain gravy.

    Slice roast, serve with carrots, potatoes and onions.

    Pour gravy over roast and potatoes, enjoy!

  5. If you don't have a crock pot, bake in a roasting pan, in the oven at 350F for about 3-4 hours or until the meat separates easily with a fork.

    Savory Roast Beef

    3-4 lb roast

    1 can cream of mushroom soup

    3 tb steak sauce

    1 can water

    1 package dried Lipton onion soup mix

    Place roast in crock pot. Add steak sauce to top and spread to coat evenly. Add cream of mushroom soup on top spreading to coat. Sprinkle onion soup on top and add water. Cook on low for about 8-10 hours or until meat separates easily. Serves 4.

    For French Beef dip sandwiches: French Rolls, roast beef, and Au Jus Mix with a little of the drippings from the roast added for dipping. Horseradish Sauce if you like it.


  6. Stick a pot roast in a crock pot.  With some carrots and potatoes.  Add a little water, probably about half way, just do it doesn't get dry.  And it can create a bit of a gravy with the drippings from the pot roast.  Let it cook in the crock pot on high for a good length of time.  Set it when you go to work in the morning on low and let it simmer all day.
