Potato, spud, jacket info needed :D

Question

ok i have my potatoes growing in some tires but i went away for a while and the top is really tall!! would it be ok for me to cut it back some and put another tired on and keep going? it's got flowers on so i dont know if that makes any difference :) thanks

the potatoe plant flowers then its just about done with making any new paotaoes. they will get larger and then thats it.
