My friend and I have to build a mini rollercoaster for science class, and we thought it would be cool if we powered it with a potato like a potato-powered clock, except it would be a potato-powered roller coaster. How exactly would we do this?

  1. you could make a potato battery by plunging two carbon rod into the potato which will acts as electrodes (positive and negative) then you can connect it to your roller coaster, but i'm not sure if it has enough current and power to run your rollercoaster, maybe if you arrange it in series and parallel you could had an adequate power

  2. your best bet would be to buy a potato clock, then take it apart and get the wires, then just connect those wires to the wires that would normally connectto the battery, then place the cord tips in the potato, or you can also you a saltwater mix to power it instead of a potato

    good luck

  3. the potato doesnt supply the electricity, its the reaction of the two electrodes...the potato creates what is known as an ionic bridge
