Question:

Potential Hire?

I had an interview with 2 people yesterday at a prestigious company. I contacted HR today for feedback and she replied that the manager has me on hold as a potential hire. However, he still wants to interview more people. I asked her when I should receive final word but she has yet to reply to me. Should I be happy about this potential hire thing? I mean if your interviewing and feel someone can be the right candidate, wouldn't you hire them already? Whats the big hold up?

By the way, to the 2 people I interviewed with yesterday, I already sent them Thank You cards today by mail.

What to do..what to do???

  1. I don't think you should worry about the company wanting to interview more candidates before making their decision.

Companies usually do not hire the first person they interview who "can be the right candidate." They want to find several "right" candidates to select the person they think is the "best" candidate.
