Potential options in the field of the Florence Barker Trophy
Competing for the Grade OR Florence Barker Trophy are Holloway Road, Tullna Puma, Droopys Dean, Cloheena Micky, Parkwest Leo and Aughacasla Vieri. To be hosted at Hove on Thursday, 4th October, the race will be raced over 515 metres flat, and has in reserve the £175 prize money for the winner.
All the entries besides the second trap, have raced at the open level, and three among the six racing tonight have won at the identical level through the last time that they raced.
One of the most compelling entries for the race is the two-year-old black dog, Aughacasla Vieri. The lightly raced hound has raced at different levels, but his primary race track has been Hove.
Two out of the last three races were at Grade D1 level while the most recent experience was at the open level.
The K. Tester trained won the Hailsham Scaffold Stakes on 27th September, 2012 at Hove over 475 metres. Racing in orange, the evening’s favourite won the race in 27.75 seconds.
Breaking into an early pace, racing towards the wide end due to the fifth trap got him leading the track half way down the distance. The final 3 ½ lengths in his favour had Airforce Cougar taking up the runner-up’s position.
Aughacasla Vieri has drawn the sixth trap, and is backed by 5 to 2 odds.
The two-year-old Droopys Dean, is another entry in the line-up who has bagged the prize money of the last open race that he undertook.
The A. Keppie conditioned won the John Palmer Stakes on 27th September, 2012 at Hove over 515 metres. Taking flight from the third trap, he led the quarter, and held on to the racing tactic concluding the track distance in 30.19 seconds.
He escaped defeat just by a short head’s margin from Special Release.
The 20 to 1 entry will race from the same number once again.
The Flake Electrical Solutions Stakes was won in 29.74 seconds by another entry in the line-up, Holloway Road. The J. Mullins trained won it from the first trap, and once again will put on the red jacket tonight while racing.
He is supported by 11 to 8 odds.
