Potential top draft prize Andrew Luck optimistic about his future as pro – NFL News
The aspiring American professional footballer the Stanford College’s quarterback Andrew Luck who has emerged as an undisputed top draft pick for the National Football League (NFL) season said he is not concerned about the choice of his potential team.
It is for the first time that the player has spoken of his future course since his confirmation of going pro from next NFL regular season.
The Indianapolis Colts have gone down to 2-14 score in the league’s standings are eligible for signing Luck if he continues to stay on top of the drafts list.
Despite that there is no official word from the Colts yet if they will sign Luck when the draft season begins in April this year, the player said he was not bothered about which of the outfits he goes to.
"I'll be happy wherever I land. Whether it be pick one through 270," Luck said. "I just want a chance to playoff professional football. It's been a dream. Whatever situation I end up in, I'm sure it'll be for the best."
He however is very much certain about his career as a professional footballer in the future after having shown his skills in the college league.
"Obviously I gotta figure out the agent and where to train and all that other stuff," Luck told said. "To be honest, I haven't given it much thought. I've sort of let my parents handle that. I'm sure they have a checklist of things to go over when I get
there."
Andrew Luck is leading the college league as the leader in offense, passing efficiency, touchdown passes and percentage. It is his performance that has elevated him to be at top of the 32 potential players who are to be recruited by the NFL franchises before
commencement of regular season this year.
Jim Irsay, the Indianapolis Colts owner, said he was going to have a meeting with Peyton Manning within a week to discuss his future and it is expected that the Colts will adopt a clear approach on signing of Luck as their draft quarterback after the meeting
outcome.
Manning had a neck surgery in September 2011 and is still recovering from it. He did not play at all for the Colts in 2011 and is still uncertain if he will come back for the next season.
Further, the Colts are still made a choice if they will keep both players as their quarterbacks at respective positions if Manning returns or will seek to replace one with other.
