Potholder pricing help!!! please answer!!! :)?

i make potholders from weaving those stretchy colorful loops on plastic looms... different patterns and all

and i want to sell them

how much should each one be? a reasonable price?

they are squares about five inches on each side

  1. I got my start in crafting , many years ago doing what you are right now.

    The first thing is to make sure you cover your costs. Figure out how much it costs to make it one. Then add a profit margin.

    You never want to sell something at at the end of it not have enough money to purchase the supplies to make the same amount. That is the "break- even".

    Do you know where you want to sell them? A price should not be lower than your supplies , but there is your time , and more important , is what a customer is willing to spend. Is there any one that you know of doing the same?

    I am not sure what the price of loops are , so It is hard to establish the cost of materials.

    I would add cost of materials plus a about a dollar. ( just a guess, to test the market) . If you find they sell well you can raise the price a little at a time.
