I hold it for him because he doesn't understand that he has to hold it, is it bad that I'm holding it, and shaking it off?

  1. when my son turned 3 he went from the potty to the regular toilet and he started to pee standing up.  at first i had to hold it for him and shake it for him.  now he gets it.  no it is not bad to do that, you need to show them, although i think 1 is a bit young for potty training and peeing standing up (i started potty training my son when he was almost 2 and he sat on the potty to go pee because he could do that himself)...but all children are different and ready at different times.  good job mommy!

  2. If your serious about potty training I have a great entry on my blog & you can get a free dvd for your child to watch all about potty training.  check it out:

  3. teach him sitting...

1 is way to young,,, 2 or 2 1/2 is better

is he p**p trained because that very important...

  4. One is to soon and will lead to confusion later on.  Don't let someone shame you into training him now.  Anyone who says their kid is potty trained is lying or mental.  I've potty trained several children and 4 of my own and when they were ready they mostly did it themselves.  Don't even consider trying until he's close to 3.  And he should be handling himself just so there are no questions later on.

  5. teach him to sit on the toilet instead. when he's old enough to hold it himself, tell him how to do it standing up. you may want to wait at least six months though.

  6. kick him in the shin

  7. Sorry to disappoint you,but your baby is just still a baby.  Just to soon to train but a great idea.Age 2-2 1/2 is usually a good time to start. this way they may not get so confused.

  8. why so young

  9. I urge you to stop wasting your time. He is not capable of knowing that the sensation he feels is to pee and he is not capable of the muscle control to hold it, so what are you doing? It is very important to keep things "age appropriate" to minimize frustration on both of you. He is another good year away from potty training. There really isn't anything you can do to hurry that along. Dad should take him to the bath room each time he goes to let him see how it is done so when he gets ready he will know
