My 6 year-old daughter will not sit down to use the toilet. Is there a potty seat for her size that will make her feel more secure?

  1. Absolutely. There are little padded seats made just for her size that fit into your existing toilet seat.  They're great.

You can find them at safety shops, Toys R Us, and you can always type "potty seat" into ebay to find a wide selection.

  2. I take it you trained her on a potty seat?  I didn't train my kids on a potty seat.  Schools, preschools and day cares don't supply potty seats so kids need to be comfortable on toilets.  I suggest you march her little f***y to the toilet, set her on it and tell her that that is where she is going to go from now on.  The main reason children have "accidents" in school is because they are not used to sitting on regular toilets.

  3. I think you need to have a good heart to heart with her and find out what she's really afraid of.  Have her be specific.  If you don't tackle this now, she's going to have problems at school, if she's not already.
