Potty training my two year old.?

I am potty training my two year old, and am not sure how to go about outings. She is a little scared of the large toilets in public washrooms. Would it be strange to bring a potty with us in the car, but then what do I do with the f***s?

  1. You can get pooper scooper bags at the pet store and use them for your little one.

Also, practice going in a kid friendly bathroom.  Sometimes they have smaller potty seats in family bathrooms at the mall, restaurants that cater to kids, even my gym has a small potty for the kids at the drop in daycare.  The more they are exposed to public rooms, the less anxiety about them.

  2. I also love the travel potty (onestepahead.com). My daughter isn't afraid of the pubic toilets but I don't like her in them. She LOVES the travel potty. It's so handy on trips too. You can use it with a standard large freezer bag or if you are in the woods or secluded, just let it go through the seat. She even wants to use it when we are home. lol.

  3. have u tried one of these potty seats http://www.target.com/Dora-the-Explorer-... this is the only one that my 2 year old will use.. we have a potty seat for her but she does not like it she only goes potty on the big girl potty with this seat on it.. i hope this helps and they have a lot of diffrent colors of potty seats not just dora.

  4. There is a portable potty in the One Step Ahead magazine. They use plastic bags. Good luck with potty training! We just finished with our 3 year old. (She regressed after little sister arrived!)

  5. We brought the potty with us in the car and it worked fine.  You can also have her "practice" on big potty's in your house.  As far as bm's go, my son still hasn't felt comfortable enough to have a bm away from home so it wasn't an issue.  Had he gone, I would have used a wipe to pick it up and put them in a diaper bag (the plastic ones for the stinky diapers that you can get at any baby store).

  6. At toys r us they have a fold up portable potty seat. I bought this and keep it in my diaper bag or purse with a small pack of Clorox wipes. I also have a portable potty that I keep in the car for when we are at the park or a place without bathroons.
