Poulan pro weed eater

Question

I gave a poulan pro weed eater 31 cc. I bought it like a year ago but i only used it sbout 5 times. At first i had trouble starting it but now, it starts but, olny if i take the filter cover off. Then after it starts i cant accelerate because it will turn off!!! Plus i already changed the spark plug. Could it just be the filter? Does any one know how to fix it??

Dude! That's a serious weed whacker.  Look at it this way...you engine is not exchanging air the way its supposed to.  Look at the exhaust and the intake.  Using an engine primer (spray stuff) will eat away build-up in the intake.
