  1. it can't be converted since pound is a unit of mass whlie newton is for force.

  2. pounds don't convert to newtons.  pounds is a unit of weight, like kilograms.  newtons is a measure of force.  The english equivalent is a slug. To compare them you would have to divide the one measured in newton's by 9.8 to get kilograms, and then convert, 1 kilogram = 2.20462262 pounds.    So once you get your answer of how many kilograms, multiply by 2.20462262 to get how many pounds it is.

  3. In the old imperial system, pounds are used as a unit of force/weight and of mass.

    1 newton = 0.225 pound-force

    1 kg = 2.68 pound

  4. 1 pond = 0.009 806 65 newton.

The previous answers are incorrect. Newtons and pounds are both measures of force. Weight is the force of gravity. ( I know sticklers will point out that gravity is not a force in Relativity but it is treated as a force in mechanics).

The metric unit of mass is the gram. The imperial unit of mass is a slug. It is strictly incorrect to convert kilograms to pounds as you are converting between a mass and a force.
