Poungach ideal to succeed in Kauto Star Feltham Novices´ Chase (In Memory of Nigel Clark) Grade 1
Poungach has got the ability to surprise his opponents in the Kauto Star Feltham Novices´ Chase (In Memory of Nigel Clark) Grade 1 at Kempton in England on Wednesday, December 26, 2012.
Things will not be easy for him, as he will have to weather the storm from some of the other quality stallions. The action in the all important class-1 competition will begin at 14:00 GMT and everyone will be eagerly looking forward to it.
A total of seven runners have been attracted towards the 3 mile long race, which will test their stamina to the limit. They will have to put in some extra effort, as the ground has become heavy due to the overnight rain.
Due to this, some of the contestants might opt to withdraw from the race. If they do so, they will miss a chance of battling for a cash prize of £22,780.
According to the bookmakers, the best chances of victory are with Dynaste, who has got a 100 percent winning record in such events. He has been performing really well in recent times and it will be difficult for others to match him over fences.
However, the young challenger from France will not enjoy running on a rain affected ground. He has mostly found it hard to be competitive under such conditions, so the punters will be reluctant to gamble on him.
Overall, the David Pipe’s trained gelding has participated in 13 races, winning four of them whereas finished as a runner up twice. In addition to that, he has secured the third spot once, which shows that he is capable of fighting for the top-three positions
with consistency.
Dynaste has been completely dominant in his previous two outings, which means that his confidence level will be high.
However, he will face a stiff competitive from Poungach, who is an expert on a wet field. He does not have a lot of experience in chase events, but he knows how to deliver decent results in this format.
In his most recent outing over fences, the Paul Nicholls’ trained gelding was rated as the favourite to succeed and he finished on top of the table with ease. He will be looking to repeat a similar show under jockey, Ruby Walsh.
