Pouring bleach on wedding dress stain...?

Question

i couldnt afford taking my dress in so i cleaned it my self by hand with sope water and bleach here and there.. but i was wondering, after a while, where i put bleach, will it turn yellow? this is somthing i heard could happen...??

currently the whole dress look stuning :] :]

It should be ok since it did not discolor yet. Just remember that you should never use bleach or Oxyclean on fabrics that are delicate, because it could also leave black spots or even eat holes in the fabric. Especially when dealing with something like a wedding dress that are always made from dry-clean only fabrics. Over time the entire dress can start to turn yellow, my mom's dress from 1967 did because it was only kept in a trunk with no covering. You are better off to get your dress professionally preserved or at least sealed up in a garment bag from the dry cleaners, I got mine preserved for only $130.00 it may seem like a lot but its a worthwhile investment if you want to keep your dress as perfect as when you got it.

Make sure where you put the bleach that you rinsed it really well. If you  did it should probably be fine. It usually turns yellow fairly quickly when you put the bleach on if its going to. It also depends on the type of bleach you used. If you used a good bleach like clorox you should be okay. Had you taken it in to be cleaned professionally they would have wet cleaned it anyway which is exactly what you did.

In the future, try blotting Hydrogen Peroxide on the stains on delicate fabrics. Works like a charm, leaves no marks and is safe on all fabrics.
