    The lily is a very ancient heraldic emblem used over three thousand years ago by the assyrians. Some have associated it with a trident or an arrowhead. It was particularly popular in Europe having been a common symbol in Scotland and England but in the case of Quebec, a preferred symbol of French royalty in the 16th - 17th century.

  3. Je pense que c'est là déjà parce-ce que c'est une symblole de l'hératage français.  Aussi le fleur de lys est devenue un peu une symbole du Québec.  Et car il était là depuis si longtemps, pourquoi le changer?
