  2. No it is not.  Not all poor people are violent.  I live in a working poor town and we don't have that kind of violence.  I think you are talking about the inner cities of large metropolitan areas.  \

The violence in these communities is nothing new.  Many crimes are committed because these people see no way out and commit crimes mostly for money.

  3. Not sure exactly what your question is.  I think that it is difficult for people living in poverty to instill positive family values, although not impossible.  People living in poverty are probably not very positive about anything.  Now, are they living in poverty because they lack family values, or are family values going by the wayside because of poverty?  Poverty does seem to breed violence.  And even "good" kids sometimes get mixed up in violence or drugs.

I guess my question is, how do parents instill positive family values in a society that doesn't attend church on a regular basis?  I feel that a strong religious belief system nurtures positive values.

Also, too many people without any kind of values, religious or otherwise are having children and are not actively trying to make their children's lives better than their own have been.

  4. This sounds like it's copied from a school book.  I think your supposed to come up with your own opinions.  I've got a headache just reading it over and over again.

  5. ummmm...

  6. Of course it does (in general).

There is more to a child's environment than the home and whatever values are instilled in it.
