does poverty cause a person to be uneducated or vica versa

  1. It is actually both.  There's a positive correlation between lower levels of education and lower income levels.  Both individuals below poverty level, and uneducated people have limited resources, and have less prospects in the job market.  Poverty limits access to better education, the schools in low-income neighborhoods lack adequate funding to provide quality education.  The schools can't afford to provide students with: updated textbooks, technological resources, proper teacher-student ratios, high-quality faculty, proper heating/cooling, etc.  Low-income parents often have to work multiple jobs, making time at home limited to help with homework, ensure children are getting healthy nutrition, etc.  Low-income parents often have low education levels, lower value for education to instill in children, which transmits the cycle of poverty through generations.


  2. Its Proven that any one that applies themselves can be sucessful in life.
