  3. It's the age old discussion between the labels "poor" and the "deserving poor".

    Some are poor through no fault of their own, and other are poor as a direct result of their own folly. Usually those in poverty have more children, so I don't think that it's actively decreasing the global population.

    They have more children in the hope that some of them will live long enough to support them in the older years, because they don't trust the health system etc., to sustain life.

  4. Depends how you define disease. Yes, it is hereditary (sort of), those with poor parents are more likely to be poor themselves.

    Is this another way to decrease global population? Yes. Is it a good one? NO! A better way to decrease population is to 'get rid' of the people who aren't yet alive. In other words, birth control, child limitation laws (like in china), and abortions.
