  1. Poverty isn't necessarily a prerequisite to immorality, but a link can be drawn.

    Example: Stealing is immoral. A person in poverty is more likely to steal than a well off person. Therefore, a person in poverty is more likely to commit that immoral act.


  2. To me it means that if you are so poor that you can't afford to eat, you will do anything to get food including stealing. I have never been in that situation and never hope to.As far as the behavior being condemned, You can't have a law and let some people off and prosicute others for the same crime.

  3. You are talking about mental poverty in that immorality is linked to the failure to do better when one knows how to do better.

  4. Actually, ignorance is the root of immoral behavior... poverty and ignorance ARE linked... but it is important to remember that rich people do bad things all the time... and so do rich nations...
