The Bee Balm is in-between Primrose and Chrysanthemum and Black-Eyed Susan. Everything thrives and looks great, but the Bee Balm has powdery mildew. Nothing else does. The flowerbed is in full sun until about 2-3 pm and the ground is moist but not wet. How should I treat this problem..?

  1. Monarda is notorious for powdery mildew. You need to water this plant without wetting the leaves. A soaker hose, or drip emitter would work better. Make sure that you do not water in the late afternoon or evening so the ground has more time to dry out.

  2. Powedery Mildew requires a lot less things to grow.  It can simply grow in high humidity conditions without you watering the plant.  Sometimes you can get it off plants simply by spraying the plants with water, if that doesn't work you will need a fungicide.

  3. Neem Oil.  It's natural and worked quite well on the same type of mildew that I got on my indoor palm plants.  It's also natural.
