I bought a 1000w step down converter for my family because we recently moved overseas. When i got here someone mentioned to me that no matter what i have plugged into the converter it will always be sucking up 1000w instead of say 130w for a TV. Is this true? will i be burning up the energy for 10 TVs with this converter when i am only watching one?

  1. no this is not true because you will only be using as much power as the appliance needs. The 1000 watt step down means that converter can run any appliange up to 1000 watts.
