Power Converters in Peru?

Im from the US and will be in Peru. Does Peru and the US use the same electrical outlets? Do I need to buy a power converter to use for my electrical appliances that I will be bringing? Thanks!

  1. Peru uses 220V. You will need a convertor for power unless they are already capable of utilizing ~90-240 volts AC.

    Most computer power adapters can convert but you should check on label to determine input power requirements.

    A lot of the outlets in Peru are round instead of slotted. They also do not use ground teminals. You should be able to purchase universal power adapters and connectors in most large airports.

    A lot of the larger hotels have different outlets supporting 110 and 220 and should be labeled as such.

  2. power is different.  You can buy a converter, which I don't recommend, just buy the electircal appliances here.  Less chance of power problems

  3. u will need  a converter :)

    and  better u  buy in lima :),,   go to any ferreteria (tools store)), or go to ace home center. u will find there   everything u need :)
