  1. Did any of you read his question?  He turned ON his tvs and lights.  He didn't turn anything off.

  2. you are defeating the purpose . . .

  3. ya know, i expected some people to do that.  enjoy your slightly higher electric bill

  4. Well, it has to offset it somewhat, right? Because even a little bit of good is better than no good. We were going to do the whole no lights Earth hour thing, too, but we got 10 minutes into it and the dogs started going crazy, which means that zombies/thieves are lurking (I'm in the middle of Nowhere, AZ, just down the street from the drug house), so we had to turn on the security light, which probably uses more power than everything in our house combined. Man, there are no easy answers. You did what you could. You could do it again tomorrow, if you wanted to do more.

  5. what?!

  6. Good man! A sacrifice that was well made. Because the few of us consumed more power, we can offset the reduction by others and keep our carbon outputs the same, therefore preventing the air from cooling down to even lower than last year.

  7. I spent earth hour by turning on ALL of the lights in the house and leaving them on for TWO hours!
