Question:

Power before accuracy?

I have a lot of power, but very little accuracy on my serves. But, my first serve rarely goes in. But if it does, it is always an ace.

Should I try to get more accuracy than power, or just stick with pure power and no control?

  1. i dont know, but personally a think its really annoying when people keep missing and taking forever.

  2. I would do power first. Accuracy is for your second serve. If you miss those too, definitely work on placing the ball in.

  3. If you already have the power, go with practicing accuracy.  During practice, slow down your serves and focus on hitting them inside the service boxes.  If you don't, you'll find yourself double faulting so many times you'll have lost before you can show off your impressive game

  4. go for about 80% power and the best accuracy you can generate. As your accuracy increases, try increasing power more little by little.

  5. The ideal situation would be to have both accuracy and power.

Accuracy is really necessary, since power is useless if it can't help you to score any points. So I suggest you work on your accuracy to improve it, and once you are able to serve the ball accurately, try adding more power. Eventually you'll have an accurate, powerful serve that will be sure to win you points!

  6. stick with the power u have.. by still swinging hard

but in doing so add more spin to the ball while keeping up the same racquet head speed

this will give u much more accuracy without losing too much power

to do this use a continental grip,, brush behind da ball for a kick (throw it behind ur head) or across da ball for slice (throw it slightly to the right)

  7. i would try to go for accuracy first

but i wouldn't try to get rid of all of the power though... just take a little bit off... turn the notch from a 10 to an 8.....then once you have that down... turn the notch up to 9 then to 10 again... then you'll have a very accurate and very powerful serve with a very high chance of winning you most of your future matches
