Question:

Power cord gets hot at the plug and sometimes...

I looked at the inside of the hot plate at the bottom of the coffee maker and the connections are good and no sign of burning. I think that it might be at the plug, perhaps the wires are frayed inside or the metal portion of the plug is breaking down. There is no way to look at this. Would there be any other reason why this would happen. Do I need to purchase a special cord like the one on it now? This is a church coffee maker and I am trying to fix it for them. This is a West bend 100 cup .Thank you
