Power dvd player problems?

i just bought a brand new dell vostro 200 it has power dvd player to watch dvds with but when watching it skips and its really slow why this computer is 1 day old just got it from dell it has windows vista home basic

There are many reasons this may be. You may not have enough RAM, dell could have gave u a faulty dvd-rom(very common), or you doing sonmthing wong. I recomend u call them and send it back for inspection if it is only a day old.
