Power filter?

i recently brought a power filter for my 20 gallon tank because the water was getting very dirty but the filter is sucking the fish to it they are having difficulty in swiming how can i reduce its power please help

make sure the filter is actually ment for a 20 gallon tank. if its something like 20-50 gallons it might be too strong. try a filter ment for 10-20 gallons or something with a lower range. there's probably not a way to turn down the power  on the filter, unless you reduced the amount of electricity wich entered it, but then it might not work at all.
