Question:

Power supply fan noise..cause?

My computer has been working well, but every once in a while when it starts the power supply fan makes a noise and vibrates the whole case. When I turn off and restart the computer it usually starts normally without the noise. When the fan is in the noise mode the blade is rotating, but the air volume is cut back substantially. Tightening the supply's mounting screws hasn't helped, although pressing in the sides of the housing seems to diminish the noise.Does anyone know if this is an indication that the fan itself it going bad, or might it be something loose inside the housing, or might it be a problem with the power supplied to the fan?Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.Marty
