Question:

Power supply voltage, is there a difference?

I recently ditched a Palm T|X for a Palm Centro. The power supply's are the same, except the T|X is a little smaller than the Centro. The settings are as follows:

The Centro supply is:

Input - 100-240V ~ 50/60Hz 0.2A

Output - 5.2V - 1.0A

The T|X supply is:

Input - 100-240VAC 50/60Hz 0.1A

Output - +5.2V - 0.50A

Could I use the T|X charger as a travel charger? or would it harm the power / battery of my new centro.

Thanks!

  1. The T|X charger only supplies half the current that the Centro model does, so I would have to say no. Using it may mean that the charger would overheat and fail, hopefully not damaging your Palm Centro in the process.

  2. The TJX adaptor would not supply enough power. The Centro requires double the current than the TJX needed.
