  1. In order to make the music play run through the slides, you should follow the hereinafter steps:

    1. Click insert -> sound -> sound from file. Select the music you want to insert;

    2. In the succeeding dialog box which say “How do you want the sound to start in the slide show, please select “Automatically”.

    3. Select "Loop Until Stopped” at the "Sound Option" above the slide, at the same time, in the “Play Sound” item, select “play across slide”.

    After you have done the three steps above, the music you desired can be played all over the slides.

  2. I'm not so sure this is possible as each slide you use will load up its own text and individual data (images, mp3, avi, etc) where appropriate but there may be some way around this.

    1 - set the music file to play in another application (eg Windows Media Player) and have that play in the background whilst running your Powerpoint slideshow.  The music should be audible.

    2 - Alternatively, you could make a very complicated slideshow all on one slide, using the custom animation settings.

    *You would attach the file to the slide as usual and configure it to play continuously (loop file).

    *Then, every time you would normally select a new slide you ignore that option and instead highlight all the slides text/images and select "Animations" from the top bar - "Custom Animtaions".

    *A panel should appear on the right with an "Add Effect" button - select the drop down option

    * You can then configure the animation behaviour with the "Exit" command

    You would need to do something similar with the related "Entrance" command for any further images or pictures.

    Option 2 is pretty complicated though.  Your best bet is the first method
