i bought one today, but i have no idea how it works, like how am i suppose to know if i win, or when i do go scan it.

I don't know what you bought since there is no game called Powerball Megamillions. There is Powerball and there is Mega Millions as a separate game. Moreover, they are never played in the same state!!!
