Powerfast Pigeon to stabilise in the Ladbrokes.Com 835 at Monmore on 15th March
The Ladbrokes.Com 835 is to be staged at Monmore over 835 metres flat on Thursday, 15th March. The race that has the prize money worth £150 will be contested by Aero Gaga, Maudabawn Jenny, Capel Baby Shoes, Cape West, Powerfast Pigeon and Vinnies Contessa.
Powerfast Pigeon, Westmead Hawk’s three-year-old black daughter out of b***h Rockmount Flo Jo, cracked into the new season and tossed three straight victories on her profile, entitling herself for a hat trick. She did grow a little weak towards the most initial races that she took part it. However, her single fifth position of the season was sandwiched between two second positions.
Powerfast Pigeon won the Local Parking Security Marathon on 10th January at Hall Green over 892 metres. She achieved it against the 15/8 favourite, Lottes Girl, who was placed third after racing for 56.59 seconds.
Powerfast Pigeon clocked the distance in 56.01 seconds while in lead of six and a half lengths and was soon followed by Ministry Magpie.
Her second victory was in the Coral Backing Macmillan Cancer Support 925 on 18th January at Romford over 925 metres. The 8/11 favourite of the race timed the distance in 59.53 seconds with 6 ¾ lengths in her advantage. Pennys Option was the runner up of the race while Maudabawn Jenny parked third behind the winner.
Before striking the third victory and getting entitled to a hat trick, she went out practicing over 460 metres at Henlow. Right out of the work out, Powerfast Pigeon won a 540 metres race at Crayford on 14th February. Ardmayle Zorro got to qualify as the runner up due to the 2 ¼ lengths he was adrift by.
When she was entered as the evening’s favourite in the Ladbrokes Golden Jacket Marathon on 18th February at Crayford over 874 metres, instead of getting the race going her way, Powerfast Pigeon settled second. Millwards Swaby won the title by racing through the field in 56.00 seconds.
Her fifth attempt was the hardest racing patch she could have ever come across as she concluded the Racing Post Free Greyhound Adverts Marathon at Wimbledon over 894 metres.
Powerfast Pigeon scored second in the Romforddogs.Com Marathon on 9th March at Romford over 750 metres.
Her slowing down with winnings does not mean that she cannot win again or lacks potential.
