Powerful Presence to live up to his name in the Sky Bet Dash Stakes (Handicap)
The possibility of success for those competing in the Sky Bet Dash Stakes (Handicap) is uncertain due to the shift from mud on which the majority had been racing and was prosperous. The six furlong race has attracted twenty, three-year and above contestants for the race on Saturday, 28th July at York.
The most accomplished and credible entry for the race today is the six-year-old, Powerful Presence. As his name suggests, the chestnut gelding took charge of the first three outings of the new season and posted a hat-trick on the profile. All the races were handicaps, even the ones that he did not win.
Refuse To Bend’s chestnut gelding shot off with a victory in the Sports360.Co.UK Handicap on 17th April, 2012 at Southwell over seven furlongs.
The six-year-old stayed in touch with the lot and was the most prominent entry two furlongs out however, the lead was short lived as he got ridden over the final furlong out and had to escape defeat by the neck’s margin.
He was paired up with jockey, Daniel Tudhope for the race and the two set Masai Moon as the runner-up.
The third position behind the winner was taken up by, Memory Cloth.
The Irish gelding out of mare, Miss A Note, maintained the composure in his next stop too. The six-year-old won the Daikin D1 Installer Handicap on 4th May, 2012 at Musselburgh over seven furlongs.
It was more of an effortless attempt for Powerful Presence as after tracking the leaders, he made smooth progress till there remained the final two furlongs to race over. With the final furlong approaching, the six-year-old drew clear and won by the margin of 1 ½ lengths after not compromising on the stamina inside the final furlong.
David O’Meara trained handicapper then dominated the Totepool Mobile Text Tote To 89660 Handicap on 2nd June, 2012 at Catterick over seven furlongs. The Corduff Stud bred won by the very narrow margin of a neck.
Owned by The Lawton Bamforth Partnership, the six-year-old settled behind the runner-up in the Betfred Mobile Sports Handicap on 30th June, 2012 at Newcastle over six furlongs.
The 12 to 1 entry will race with jockey, Daniel Tudhope and the two will break from the fourth gate.
