Powerful enough amp??

Question

alright i have a sony 1200w amp in my car hooked up to 2 1000w xplods.

Im thinking about getting two(2) 12" alpine type r's. i think 1500w each...

Will my current amp be able to handle the type r's???

Will I need to get lower gauge wire and fuse also?

Definitely not enuff.  PRobably wasnt enough for the sony xplods either.

These subs are 380w rms, 1300 peak.  

The amp you list there is only 250x2.  

Alpine type r's:

250watt- 500 watt RMS....1500 peak.

So....although it would be "Enough"   there's no room to grow.  And it is BARELY Hitting RMS and 250watts.

realistically the sony brand equipment as far as car audio goes is not very good.  Suggest looking into other brands.
