Ppctl.dll is missing/being used/damaged on my computer?

My mom downloaded that stupid Antivirus XP 2008 virus and now I can't get rid of it.

I just installed CA Security, but I can't do anything with my spyware search because it tells me that ppctl.dll is either missing, damaged, or being used.

How can I fix this?

I've tried everything.

  1. Did you try booting into safe mode and then running your program to remove it. If you need a program that really does the job then try smitfraudfix. Follow the steps to boot into safe mode then run the program as shown here http://www.pchubs.com/blogs/antivirusxp-...

  2. ppctl.dll is not a crucial file use a registry cleaner to get rid of it  then unintall ca security and then reinstall it hope that works

  3. This article I added talks about dll errors and how to solve them. Hope it helps.
