Ppd rating for workers comp case?

using the ama guildlines how does a doctor come up with his rating for an injury? what rating can I most likely recieve? I have had two shoulder surgeries on my right shoulder, I am right handed. I will not be able to lift more then 20 pounds closed to my body using both arms. five pounds away from the body using right arm. No working over chest level. I have done the same type of hard labor work over over twenty years now. I am 52 yrs old. will be going threw voc reb. hardly no education what to speak of. Can anyone help me with question, or do I just have to wait to see what the doctor comes up with...state of vermont

You have to wait to see what the doctor comes up with, that decides your impairment rating.  You also need to speak to your adjuster because every state pays differently.  You need to take your voc rehab seriously because you will NOT get huge vat of money for your disability.  You will need to work and find another way to make a living.  You do not have a permanent total disability so you will need to work.

After doing manual labor so long, it's highly likely that with a tad bit of education, you'll be making MORE money at a desk job.  Clearly you're bright - you've good written communication skills (demonstrated in your question), and mastery of English (yes, I know, but some teens these days . . .), which means you can speak properly, also.

Regarding the rating, you really do have to wait and see what the doc comes up with.

You will have to wait and see.  WC procedures vary from state to state.
