I currentley live in Florida and here we have Technical/ trade schools that offer the program which usually takes about a year to complete. I looked online and all that came up are comunity colleges. I was wondering if that is the only schools you can attend and also how long does it take to complete.

any other info would be great, thanks!

  1. I  graduated from Sinai Hospital ( Detroit,MI) PN program in the early 80's

    it was a private school

    there was 1 year of school ( 5 days a week/ almost 8 hours a day)

the 1st semester ( 6 months) we  did  hands on clinical for 2 days a week

2nd semester we practiced our techniques with 3 days clinicals

IF you can afford to? go for your RN instead of going for LPN /LVN

these days Practical nurses have a hard time getting jobs  in hospitals or good paying jobs in clinical settings- unless its a Nursing home

being a RN is more marketable
