Question:

Practical career in theatre/acting?

Is there a part of theatre or acting where it is plausible to pursue a career in? I'm very passionate about acting, but I know that it's not a suitable path to rely on...as I'm often reminded by my family. I figured that whatever I decided to do with the rest of my life, I'll always be in productions on the side...

But I was wondering if there's something that still relates to theatre/film that I can live off of as a career? I'd much rather work someplace in the area that I love than take up a career that I'm not passionate about.

  1. maybe u can be an acting coach, train kids how to act. u can also take part in local plays, and even try out for broadway! (anything's possible!) u could also become an agent.

  2. Careers in lighting design and stuff behind the scenes are in need right now and pay pretty well too.  You could do that to be around the theater/movie set while you try out on the side and see if you could hit a role.
