  1. just find a good excause not to go with him

    thats what i did

because its not good having a freiend to teach you as the lession will be very relaxed

  2. driving is no easy task these days, competence and confidence in what you are doing is paramount, you may encounter strained relationship with your friend during driving lessons.  it is obviously up to you to make a decision of where and who you take lessons from, if your friend becomes a driving instructor it becomes a business,he/she may feel obliged not to take any money from you, awkward.

if i were you i would take lessons from another source, then again lessons are not cheap these days, there are many factors you need to look at, be pro active, there are many information packs available, do some research, be aware of what is expected of you, including the written part of the test.

    but anyway best of luck.

  3. I think you should take him up on his offer, but only if he is quite well on in his training. Even then I think you should use a proper driving school as well. This should give you impartial instruction that you might not get from a friend. It will hopefully cut down the need for so many expensive lessons. I think you might have to treat your friend to a few drinks in the pub.

  4. If you do he will stop being a friend.  Find someone else who is experienced as a teacher.

  5. find a proper instructor and when your a more confident driver take a lesson from your friend. once you've had a few lessons u'll know what to do without getting into an argument with your friend.its nerve racking the first few lessons so its better to go with someone who really knows what their doing and have been doing it a while

  6. It could be a mutually beneficial experience. but dont let him charge you.

he can use you as a pupil to practice on and you can learn from him as he learns.

But, take leasons from a qualified instructor and see if he will accept that your cost is to his benefit so he does not charge you...!

keep it formal and if you are friends then do the old "elephants" trick. if it gets heated one of you says elephants and the lesson and the issue are over and you change subjects. Discuss it later over beer, wine, coffee, spliff whatever. (Married couples do it) This protects your friendship.

Good luck and remember, driving a car is like loving a woman! Some like it rough, but most want respect, soft touches and for you to be in control. :o) (when you're 40 you'll understand)(God I hate being 40+ sometimes, I sound like my granddad!)
