  1. True everything is shipped from somewhere else.


  2. Inadvertently or not, the answer is yes. Only the amount of involvement and the scale of involvement is different. A gift card shop in Montana still has to have the cards delivered (oil and gasoline from foreign sources), etc.

    I would not say "all" are "engaged" in it, but they are affected by it.

    Example:  A local produce market sells product that is grown locally.  They are not engaged in global trade.  But they are affected by it.  Perhaps the pesticides are imported cheaply, or the seeds are imported to grow the goods.  This would exclude one business therefore "all" are not engaged.
