  1. Your just getting old--ER

  2. concentration is something you can practice, there are plenty of books on it, but one way that seems quite common is to think of a simple object like an apple or a pencil or an 8 ball, and only think of that object. You're mind will eventually stray, but then you try to work you're way back to the object through all the things you thought of inbetween.

Stay hydrated, if you feel thirsty you are already about 2% dehydrated and you will loose your concentration quicker, water or fruit juice is best stay away from alcohol and caffeine.

When you practice do you just play racks or do you play little games like trying 10 shots of a ceretain type and keeping score.

Maybe you just aren't hungry enough and after proving to yourself and your opponent that you still have it and can beat him. you loose intrest. If it is a tighter game do you do better?

  3. I know what you mean by just banging balls around, It's hard to stay focused. I have played as long as ten hours by myself It takes dedication and determination to get to the next level.

  4. I play so much I dont really practice at all just 3 or 4 shots to ck the table roll more than anything.

  5. When you start losing your focus and concentration on each shot, and just start "banging balls" .....you're done! It's time to step away from the pool table, and perhaps grab a cup o' coffee and watch a 'heated' match between the 2 best players in the room, or simply, call it a night ....or a day.

If you get ample rest, eat well, and do some light endurance exercising (I recommend swimming) -- you may very well build up your good ol' stamina again. You'll be able to increase your practice time, as you redevelop your stamina and endurance.

You most certainly can withstand longer races, though your endurance training may not be just a matter of practicing longer. It's a combination of practice, rest, exercise, and good lifestyle habits ----at the table as well as AWAY from the table.

You're 60 ........you're still a spring chicken! I've played pool for hours on end with men in their 80's!

    Rack 'em, Johnny!
