  1. Oh yeah, there's still a lot you can do on your own.

Bring a towel, use the towel to lift weights, do pull-ups, do neck exercises with it, and maybe even create your own heavy-duty towel exercises.

You can do drills outiside or in a hotel room.  Set up two markers apart 25 yards (give or take depending on your level of fitness).

1.)  Front Roll one end to the other.

2.)  Frog Hop one end to the other.

3.)  Crab Walk one end to the other.

4.)  Bear Crawl one end to the other.

5.)  High Step one end to the other.

6.)  Left Roll one end to the other.

7.)  Right Roll one end to the other.

9.)  Back Roll with Stomach Throw Leg Thrust one end to the other.

You can do isometric doorframe exercises like an osotogari with your  leg hooked infront of the wall and your backhand behind it.

You can do neck bridges, pushups, situps, and lunges.

    ______________

Please do not practice on another person.  If you've only been in Judo for a short amount of time, there's too big of a chance of hurting your back, breaking your training partner's shoulder, or about a billion other things that you don't want.

  2. Practice your falls and rolls. If you can tie resistance bands to a tree and practice your nage waza.

  3. You can practice your break falls and practice the throws that you know without a partner. Concentrate on on footwork, and push/pull(off balancing). I don't remember how to spell kasush thee right way....grrr. You should also work on getting in and out after you get the technique right.

  4. Buy some resistance bands from target. You can tie knotts to the edge, and close a door to it to simulate throwing movements. I did this when first starting. I attached 2 different bands at different locations on the door to simulate the proper grip and resistance placements.

As stated above, you can do osoto gari, but you can also do ippon seio nage and tai otoshi and a few others.

On top of this, you can also practice your footwork and entries by placing two objects shoulder width apart to simulate your opponent's stance and enter as you would perform a throw. Do this hundreds of times.
