  1. You know what you should do.

    dont play this year

    and try out next year

and then you can talk to some of the players about what you do!

  2. my coach said that if you have a ball at home then practice bumping the ball up and down...helps with technique

  3. you can get a volleyball pal out of volleyball magazines and practice serving with it. Or you could practice serving into your garage door, or call a friend who is trying out and practice with them.

  4. ok...you need to do a few drills and stuff to help you. you need to remember to stretch your legs because you have to change positions a lot.

    so for the volleyblal part:

for hitting/bumping/passing (whatever you call it!):

find an empty wall. throw the ball against the wall and hit it as many times as you can. start out at 20 hitting it back and fourth to the wall. then go up to maybe 35 and try to get 100! it isnt as easy as it sounds!

    serving:

you can try to serve it to the same wall. the point is to make it come back to you. try doing about 10-20 of those in a row.

    setting:

this is proubabky the hardest thing to practice on your own. the only thing you can really do is to st it to yourself about 10 times in a row or make a like on the driveway with chalk and try to set it just over the line.

    spiking:

some people are too short and some teams dont like short people to spike. i dont know how tall you are, but i dont know how to help you with spiking other than to use the line of chalk take a few steps away from it...throw the ball in the air like it had been set to you, and run up and spike it over the line.

    hope this helped! good luck!

  5. its important to learn how the ball moves [if that makes sense]. play as much as you can - i serve to a wall and then pass/set/spike it and have rallies against the wall all summer when my friends can't play and that EXPERIENCE and TIME that i "spend" with the ball has helped me so much with passing and hitting downballs. the better you can understand the movement of the ball, the better you'll be as an all-around player, offensive and defensive.

work on agility [not just running] volleyball courts are small, you'd be better off sprinting/shuffling/karaoke than running distance

planks/crunches/ab workouts are extremely important - my highschool has a 90+ situp warm up

pass to yourself as you shuffle down your driveway or karaoke around a cul-de-sac. and set to yourself while doing the same thing. it helps so much with ball control.

  6. You can easily practice hitting or setting the ball, by using the side of your house as another "player". That is how I used to practice. However, don't expect the wall to always hit the ball back to you! :)

  7. YOU SHOULD REALLY TRY GETTING YOUR ARMS STRONGER AND MAKE SURE YOU PERFECT YOUR PASSES YOUR SETS AND YOUR SPIKES ESPECIALLY DIVING

  8. I had no one to practice with besides for the roof of my house. It helped me a lot. I could practice anything including my jump serve. My passes became outstanding and my serves got a lot better.
